Do you have a high prescription? Perhaps you have experienced thick, heavy, or uncomfortable eyeglasses. Here are some simple tips for choosing the best frames for high prescriptions.

Smaller Frames
Smaller frames = Smaller Lenses. Shrinking size is the most effective method for reducing lens thickness. It also creates less peripheral distortion and reduces visual discomfort.
Round Frames
A lens will typically be thickest at its widest part. Eliminate the risk by choosing a round frame to ensure all sides are similar thickness. (Note: Certain types of astigmatism may not follow this rule)
Plastic Frames
A plastic frame hides thickness by making the lenses less noticeable behind the rim. This creates an illusion of less relative lens which is visually attractive.
Nose Pads
Nose pads help balance any additional weight of a higher prescription. They also improve the adjustability of a frame for better centration and the clearest possible vision.

Does this all seem like a bit too much to consider when purchasing frames? Don't worry, H.EYE has you covered! We created a filter category specifically for high prescription customers.
